Description | The juvenile bird was caught in July 2010 near it's natal nest in the Nagykunság (NK-09) with injured feet and crop. The bird was treated in the Hortobágy Bird Hospital and than was kept in the Górés Raptor Rehabilitation Centre of the Hortobágy National Park Directorate. In August 2011 the bird was repatriated in the Jászság by the staff of MME BirdLife Hungary. Szellő spent her first winter in East Hungary and some short visit to Romania, Serbia and Croatia. It's last signal came from the Nagykunság, near it's natal nest site at 9 May 2012. We have no data about the bird's fate, but most probably it was electrocuted as many medium voltage power lines are found in the region where it has disappeared. |
